The Mets have fired manager Carlos Mendoza after a disastrous four-game series versus the Cubs. The four-game sweep was a microcosm of the season to this point: players looked uninterested, which led to a number of errors. Mendoza is the fall guy for a lackluster season which has seen every player underperform. Davi d Stearns now has no shield to hide his mistakes, and if the season continues the way it’s going, he will join Mendoza as the latest fall guy for an organization in turmoil.
