This weekend the Mets are celebrating the 40th anniversary of their 1986 World Series win. The seven-game series is one of the most famous World Series of all time; in particular, the ending of Game 6 is widely remembered by  Mets fans who saw Mookie Wilson’s game-winning hit. The last time the 1986 team was celebrated was in 2016, and the celebration included special jerseys matching those the 86 team wore. For this celebration, there will again be special jerseys worn, which is a nice touch. With the matching jerseys, hopefully the 2026 Mets can capture some of the 86 magic, at least for the weekend.
