World Cup Watch Party

‘I had the pleasure of attending a World Cup watch party in which the United States Men’s National Team advanced to the round of 32 by defeating Australia. The watch party was hosted by ESPN New York radio host Peter Rosenberg and Calandra’s Bakery in Caldwell, NJ. I got a chance to talk to Peter, and he’s a wonderful guy. The energy inside Calandra’s was wonderful as well. The USMNT scored two goals, and after each, the people at the watch party erupted in loud cheers. And as the game came to an end, the people cheered the loudest and broke out into “USA” chants. The cheers and rush of energy gave me goosebumps and were a good symbol of how sports bring people together. Overall, the time spent both at the watch party and meeting with Peter will be an unforgettable moment for me. Peter also joked I must be into “misery,” given the teams I root for. But we know it’s character building.
