The Jets have completed their 2026 draft and came away with potential key pieces on both sides of the ball. Their first pick was defensive end David Bailey of Texas Tech, who’s a proven pass rusher. Bailey had 14 sacks in his lone year at Tech; his only flaw is his run defense, which needs tweaking. Offensive weapons came later with tight end Kenyon Sadiq and receiver Omar Cooper Jr. Sadiq and Cooper are proven pass catchers, which is a good compliment to Garrett Wilson. On day two, the Jets added to the defense with a top but undersized cornerback in D’ Angelo Ponds. The Jets rounded off the draft by grabbing a developmental quarterback in Cade Clubnik, who is athletic but needs refinement. Overall, the Jets went with a mix of proven talent and potential, which is what all teams look for in a good draft.
