The Devils have made many moves in free agency so far. The signing of multiple solid to above average defensemen is a move that adds grit and experience. It will both help for this year and to mentor younger players such as Luke Hughes and Simon Nemec. The Devils don’t have to sign any top tier offensive players due to the fact that they already have a set core. For the goalie position the Devils didn’t look into free agency, they looked at trades. They traded for slightly old but an above average goalie in Jacob Markstrom. I like this move due to the goal tending last year being mediocre. The trade is a good way to solidify the goalie position for at least this year. And they drafted a young promising goalie as well.
