The Mets have made it to the All Star Game break three games above .500. They are currently the third wild card team in the NL. The Padres and the Diamondbacks are both close behind them. But the Mets are in a good position to be in. They are going to play meaningful games in the late summer. The fact that they are a playoff contender is shocking. May was a disastrous month. They have climbed back from being 11 games under .500 to being in playoff contention. The team has great chemistry which bodes well for team morale. But the team still has weaknesses and the biggest one is the bullpen. They have minor league options to fix things: such as players like Brandon Sproat and Blake Tidwell. I would like to see a mix of minor leaguers and two or three mid level trades to fill out the bullpen.
