After the Devils loss today, which I went to, the Devils chance at making the playoffs is small. This season there have been multiple problems. The main problem is their consistency. They are awful on the second halves of back to backs. When they get big wins like last Saturday against the Flyers they lost two in a row. Secondary problems are their puck luck and injuries. Puck luck is an issue in every game. In most games they outshoot their opponents and whiff on great chances. If a team is unlucky when putting the puck behind the goalie they’re at a major disadvantage. Injuries have ravished their top players. The top players like Jack Hughes. Timo Meier and Dougie Hamilton have rarely shared the ice together. Even when they’re healthy they struggle like Jack Hughes is now. The Devils need a win streak in order to raise their chance at making the playoffs.
