Zach Wilson’s tenure on the Jets seems to be over. Both parties failed each other. The Jets played him too early as a rookie and never gave him a good veteran QB as a mentor in both his rookie and sophomore year. The Jets also gave him little protection by having an awful offensive line every year. Zach is at fault too by not taking accountability in his sophomore year as he lost games where the Jets defense was amazing. Zach also had a hard time making the easy throws in every year. The main cause of the tenure ending is the play calling. Zach was at times amazing at running around and throwing deep. The issue was that the coaching staff rarely allowed him to do it. For his tenure to have had the chance to be successful, the Jets should have not started Zach week 1 in his rookie year and instead should have given Zach a respectable mentor. The play calling also should’ve allowed for more scrambles and unscripted plays. I wish Zach all the luck on his future teams.
