The Mets have begun the 2026 regular season with a 11-7 win against the Pirates. Starting pitcher Freddy Peralta performed decently by allowing four runs over five innings. The offense started off hot with a five-run first inning, most noticeably a bases-loaded, three-run triple by Brett Baty. Patience was also crucial; the offense drew several walks, which contributed to the 11 runs scored. Rookie outfielder Carson Benge had the first hit of his career, and it was a home run. Overall, the new roster additions performed well, and hopefully that continues all season.
