Jack Hughes has helped lead the USA men’s hockey team to its first gold medal since 1980. Hughes scored the game-winning goal in overtime, officially earning him a “Golden Goal”, a moniker only given to Canada’s Sidney Crosby in 2010. The game was a goalie masterclass for both the USA and Canada, ending in a 2-1 USA victory. The goalies’ performances will likely be forgotten due to the exciting and momentous nature of the Hughes goal. Hopefully, the excitement can carry over with Hughes to the rest of the Devils season.
