The Mets have opened up Spring Training with a 2-1 loss to the Marlins. It was a pitchers duel, as both Brandon Waddell and Huascar Brazoban delivered scoreless outings. Both Waddell and Brazoban provide potential as long reliever options. The offense was dormant for the regular starters. New acquisitions in Marcus Semien and Bo Bichette didn’t record a hit. Even though the offense was quiet, it’s still very early and they have over a month to ramp it up.
