The Jets lose a heartbreaker to start off their season, falling 34-32 to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 60 yard game winning field goal by the Steelers was the catalyst for the heartbreak felt by fans, especially me. A bright spot was the dazzling debut of free agent addition quarterback Justin Fields. He and the whole offense look promising, and act as a glimmer of hope in the early part of the season. The offensive shine, however, was all for not as the defense let the whole team down. The defense against the pass was a major letdown. Another facet in the heartbreak was a fumble on special teams that swung the momentum over to the Steelers. The Jets were competitive all game, which was a surprise to me and hopefully that competitiveness transfers over for next week’s game against the division rival Buffalo Bills.
