
A once promising week has sputtered in its end as the Mets lose a four game series to the Marlins. The sweep of the first place Phillies in the beginning of the week was a high that unfortunately couldn’t be built upon The main flaw in the letdown Marlins series was the starting pitching. Relied upon starters such as David Peterson and Kodai Senga had underwhelming and short performances. The exception in the series was the debut of praised prospect, Jonah Tong, who dazzled in the Mets only win. Tong and his fellow rookie starter Nolan McLean appear to be the only bastions of hope pitching wise for the Mets, as we enter the final crucial month of the season.
