The Mets enter the biggest series of the year with  a downward momentum track. They come to a series with the division leading the Phillies off a split six game road trip. They blew their chance of maintaining their upward trek from the prior week by losing a series to  the last place Nationals. Starters such as Kodai Senga  and Sean Manaea blew the last two games and came out flat. The Braves series was a promising one until the last game where the bullpen faltered which isn’t surprising. This upcoming three game Phillies series will determine if the last month of the season will be a division chase or a wild  card chase.
