The Mets are at the lowest point of their once-promising season. They are now losers of six straight after being swept in two straight series. The last two series don’t represent the true downfall, as the skid goes far back. The Mets have the fourth-lowest winning percentage since mid June. The downfall has been prolonged, and what was a guaranteed playoff spot is on the brink of collapse. Every player is to blame, as at no point in this season have all facets of the team been in stroke together. Hope and morale are at the breaking point and the players have to answer for themselves in the upcoming homestand.
