The week of the trade deadline was a disappointing one for the Mets. The trade deadline acquisitions performed well, but their performance didn’t help the Mets from losing both of their series’. The starting pitchers greatly underperformed as it appears that both Clay Holmes and Frankie Montas are not the pitchers that David Stearns hoped they’d be. Both Holmes and Montas should be shelved at least for now and their replacements should be the promising prospects of Brandon Sproat and Nolan McLean. Hopefully, these prospects are called up soon as a jolt is needed for the starting rotation.
