Mets Slump

The Mets have been swept in a series for the first time this season. The pitching for the first time all season sputtered by allowing more than six runs in all three games. The offense for the most part did what’s expected for them, but were let down by lackluster run prevention. It’s not shocking that the pitching faltered as the Mets were facing off against a surging Rays’ offense. The series sweep has shrunk the division lead to 2.5 games. The division lead will have a chance to either increase or shrink as the Mets face off against the second place Phillies in the upcoming week.
