The Mets finished off a successful road trip with a dominant offensive performance against the Rockies. Pete Alonso dominated in all seven games of the western trip by having 15 RBIs. Alonso could very well be on an MVP pace if his hot streak from the road is able to continue when he and the team return to Citi Field this Tuesday to play the Nationals. The pitching kept at its dominance by maintaining their league leading ERA. The  bullpen however did fluster in both of the losses by blowing leads in the ninth inning. Despite the two losses, the Mets with their win today now lead the NL East by 4.5 games.
