The Mets have maintained their position in first place in the NL East this week by winning two three-game series. They rebounded quickly from a prior week of sputtering, when they were losers of two straight series. Francisco Lindor and Juan Soto shone, especially in the long ball aspect. The offense as a whole had a great week, which isn’t surprising, as that unit had been forecasted to be the Mets’ best unit. The bullpen has come down to Earth from their out-of-this-world start in the first few weeks. This was expected, but there is a need to find a happy medium. Let’s hope the happy medium is found this upcoming week as the Mets face off against the Pittsburgh Pirates and the New York Yankees.
