The Jets are done with their first draft under the Aaron Glenn regime and filled many positions of need. Most importantly was the tight end position where they filled it in the second round by silencing LSUs Mason Taylor. Taylor is a solid tight end with decent blocking skills and good receiving skills. This is a great value pick as the rest of the tight end class behind Taylor is a far drop off. The first round pick didn’t fill a position of need as the Jets already have a solid left tackle on the roster but the pick does add a talented player in Missouri’s Armand Membou. Membou is a raw player and has traits that need development but should be a starter by mid season. It was a solid draft but the real football season begins in late summer as training camp begins where the players selected are actually visible.
