The Mets have signed Juan Soto to a 15 year deal and it’s the biggest total money deal in sports history. Soto is an amazing hitter and makes the Mets better. He adds a jolt to an already good lineup. I would have him hit second and he’d hit behind Francisco Lindor. The Soto addition also helps young power hitter Mark Vientos by allowing Mark to see more pitches before he hits. This same method helped Aaron Judge who was Soto’s teammate last year on the Yankees win a MVP. There will be negatives about this signing if the Mets don’t do more. The most important thing to do is to both resign Pete Alonso and Sean Manaea. Both players were key in the Mets deep playoff run this past season and I believe that they if resigned will bring continuity to a 2025 team that will look different.
