The Mets have finished a 5-1 home stand. The sweep of the Padres this weekend was huge. The Padres are currently above the Mets in the wild card race. With the sweep the Mets are 4 games under 500. There is a chance for the Mets to be in the wildcard hunt due to the fact that a majority of the NL is below 500. As of right now the key to the Mets success is their offense. Players like Francisco Lindor, Pete Alonso and JD Martinez are surging. The offense must stay like this in order for the Mets to have a chance to advance to the playoffs. But the bullpen remains a concern.
