Opening Day for the Mets is this Thursday and the complete pitching staff is not finalized. For the starters the back-end isn’t complete. Nobody knows if it’s going to be a five or six man rotation. I prefer a five man rotation It allows for a inning eater guy like Jose Butto to have more outings in the bullpen. David Peterson also has flexibility when he returns from injury in June. The Mets could have two inning eater guys by the summer. The big factor in the staff is Kodai Senga. Kodai is expected to be healthy by mid-May. Kodai’s return could move Tylor Megill to the bullpen. The Mets pitching staff is going to change throughout the season due to injuries and poor performance. This happens to every team, but the Mets are well-prepared with their depth.
