The Mets appear to be done with the retooling of their roster after making two large trades this week. The first was for outfielder Luis Robert Jr. Robert is a young and talented player who has dealt with the injury bug throughout his career. When he’s able to be on the field, he has demonstrated immense talent both with his bat and glove. The seconds of the trades was for a bona fide ace starting pitcher in Freddy Peralta. The talents of Peralta give the Mets the last needed move to their pitching staff, a legit number one starter who can pair with rookie Nolan McLean. These two trades are most likely the last major offseason acquisitions for the Mets, who have effectively retooled a stagnant team.
